This is NOT the moment

Living for the moment is not only obscured but will cause all your future moments to be hell. Drug addicts live for they moment. Do you really think a heroin addict is shooting their arm up thinking “This will definitely effect my future which is why I am doing it”? They are simply just living for the moment. Living for that feel good, security blanket sensation they get from drugs right then. Only they soon run out and find themselves in a new moment of their lives completely miserable and utterly depressed.

Drug addicts are not the only one guilty of this. Ever heard of eating disorders? If we all truly lived for the moment I do not believe that we would ever stop eating. “Who cares if we get fat in the future, I am living for the moment now, and this chocolate cake is delicious!”What if we all started living for our future, living for the ultimate goal in life? What might happen to us? What might we make of this world, if we all started working towards something much brighter and promising then this moment that we have? Don’t you think more kids would end up in college, fewer wars would break out, and the world might just be an easier place to live in?

With that being said, don’t live for the divine pleasures of the moment, because it will only result in a divine disaster of the future.
